Engineer Battery is a nodal defence point with layers of fortifications. The various remains have been outlined as separate items including:
(a) One 68-lbs gun by 1859
(b) shielded 10 ins RML, shield remains in place (1865)
(c) Q.F. Battery (1896-7) Thee 12-pdr Quick Fire Guns
(d) WW2 MG and AA positions of various typed
(e) Underground works
This WWII position is just a few feet North of Engineer Battery on the cliff edge. Gun type unknown. The position is in a good condition.
