King’s Lines Battery was originally designed to provide flanking fire along the front of Grand Battery.

During World War 2 a tunnel was constructed from the casemated two gun battery at the bottom of King’s Lines Battery, out toward the north.  A heavy anti-tank gun was mounted in this position.

At this time the exact caliber of the Anti Tank gun is not know, but it is believed to be a 17 pdr or possibly larger.
