This site has been referred to as the P Battery because it is located immediately to the West of the old P Position which remains complete with Pivot and Racer.
It is not known when this battery was built but it is assumed that it was an emergency battery built in 1941/2. It appears in plans from 1943. When built the battery had two barbette position for the 9.2 in Howizers, with both position linked by a tunnel. At the center of this tunnel there was two hoists for lowering ammunition into the tunnel. The tunnel was used as the magazine, with one half for pedestrians and the other half for ammunition.
